Supporting teachers, ordained sangha and volunteers in a Dharma community is a very important practice in Buddhism. Formally requesting our teachers to continue turning the wheel of the Buddha’s teachings is one of the practices prescribed in the Seven-limb Prayer that one does to accumulate merit. Financially assisting dedicated Dharma practitioners is a direct way to help ensure the Buddhist teachings flourish

Sakya Losal Choe Dzong is able to make offering to Lama Choedak Rinpoche and other teachers out of the income from events that they host. The Lama Fund was set up to allow our community members to directly assist Lama Choedak Rinpoche financially who has been supporting the growing Dharma community in Australia since the 1990’s by teaching and translating full time.

In addition, we currently have monastics both at SIBA and Virupa Retreat Centre that are seeking support for their living expenses. Please consider making a regular contribution to this fund that will help those monastics and their retreats who are the very pillars of Buddhism in the West and are vital for the continuation of the Society and its dharma activities.
