SUMMER SCHOOL: The Complete Path 2nd Year Course
The International Buddhist Academy (IBA) in Kathmandu has launched a global training program that encompasses teaching the Buddhist path in the Sakya tradition in its entirety. Called The Complete Path, this unique course has been devised to provide Dharma practitioners of all levels of experience a systematic training focused mainly on the theory and practice of the Vajrayana path as transmitted by the founding masters of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism. The full 7-year program is included in the diagram below.
His Holiness the 42nd Sakya Trizin, Ratna Vajra Rinpoche, was requested to teach the program at the International Buddhist Academy, an ideal setting in Kathmandu for this intensive training course. The first year of these teachings took place in August 2017 with many students present and great effects for attendees.
Because not everyone is able to go to Nepal, the IBA has established partnerships with selected Dharma centers across the world to teach the first three years of this seven-year course in their home countries. The Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra is offering you the chance to be a part of this wonderful Complete Path course, right here in Canberra for the second year.
*UPDATE* - Lama Choedak Rinpoche has confirmed that this course is open to everyone. Even if you haven't completed the 1st year of the Complete Path course you are still welcome to attend the second year.
If you wish to study the material from year 1 (optional), an online course is available as a substitute if you were unable to attend the Year 1 teaching on Clarifying the Sage’s Intent. For details, click on this link:
Year 2 of the Complete Path will focus on Ngorchen Khonchog Lhundrup’s The Beautiful Ornament of The Three Visions, which is one of the most important texts in Sakya tradition which prepares a practioner to receive the higher levels of teachings such as Lamdre.
At the end of each year’s course, participants who have completed all previous years will receive a certificate (note that you can still attend this year of the course regardless). A special certificate will be awarded to participants for completion of the full 7-year program.
Lama Choedak Rinpoche will also be leading Year 2 of the Complete Path course in Paluma near Townsville from 22 March 2019 - 31 March 2019. Bookings and enquiries for the course in Queensland please call 0448 401 066.
