RETREAT: Fundamental Buddhist Practices (Ngon-dro)

Registration is closed for this event
In this annual retreat, Lama Choedak Rinpoche will teach, transmit and empower you on how to engage in the Fundamental Buddhist practices (Ngon-dro).

Lama Choedak Rinpoche“The Fundamental Buddhist practices, traditionally known as 'Ngon-dro' in Tibetan, is what everyone needs to be taught.

People are often attracted to Buddhism as a 'way of life’ or ‘philosophy' and poke on the edges by reading a few books, but that’s all. Many people wish to follow the Buddhist path but struggle to obtain appropriate transmission, instruction and empowerment to learn the practices properly.

Some go to India or Nepal to attend some teachings with thousands of people, however the teachings are often not translated or go above their heads. In Australia, we are blessed to have a centre where these precious practices are taught in a safe and supportive environment.”

- Lama Choedak Rinpoche

The teachings in this retreat will cover Refuge, Bodhicitta, Cleansing practice of Vajrasattva, Mandala Offering and Guru Yoga, according to the Lamdre Tsokshe tradition of Sakya Tibetan Buddhism.

These practices are fundamentally important to overcome afflictions and karma and attain realization of love, compassion and altruism. Rinpoche will lead every session and sit with you to go through the practices properly.

Comfortable accommodation is available at Virupa Retreat Centre, and this retreat is fully catered with delicious vegetarian meals. All are welcome!
