About this course:
The Perfection of Wisdom is the most important Mahayana Buddhist scripture with the core message of how to adopt altruistic way of life unified with the holistic understanding of the doctrine of emptiness.
Rongton Sheja Kunrig wrote many commentaries on some of the important texts on the subject. In addition to them, he wrote a ground breaking freelance text called The Stages of Meditation on The Perfection of Wisdom, which presumed lost by many. But in 1975, the late Khunu Rinpoche taught on the only hand written copy of the text to late Kyabje Chogye Trichen Rinpoche.
Lama Choedak Rinpoche, who also attended the teachings has taught extensively in the past. He has recently completed the long awaited translation on the precious text. Rinpoche will be teaching on the text again and translation of the text will be made available to all course participants.
These classes are suitable for everyone, regardless of your religious interest. There are no prerequisites for attendance - it is fine to join the classes throughout the year.
Special Note: Sakya Losal Choe Dzong will offer this course for free, but you are encouraged to offer a donation and or become a benefactor for our course(s) so that we can offer teachings more widely and freely.
IMPORTANT: Limited In Person Tickets For Holder Centre
Due to Covid-19 restrictions we can have only limited numbers for this class at the Holder centre - please book early and select the 'IN PERSON' ticket option to avoid disappointment.
Become A Benefactor For Tuesday Night Buddhist Teachings
In order to introduce the traditional Buddhist practice of ‘generosity’ (dana), we are inviting you to become a benefactor for our Tuesday night Buddhist teachings so that all participants can join in the course for free on Facebook and Youtube. This is an excellent way to offer the teachings to the general public with greater access and also it is a very meritorious thing to do. We are introducing this system with the hope to gradually establish traditional Buddhist practice to promote generosity within the community. To become a benefactor for one term is $1080 or for the whole year, it is $4500. Our Treasurer would like to hear from you if you can be generous to make a pledge to be a benefactor (email [email protected]). This system will empower many people to receive these precious teachings without any financial constraint. Please kindly give a good consideration to do this and also encourage others to support this initiative.
If you would like to be a benefactor, you can register for the class below or do so via this page here.
