Lama Choedak RinpocheSPECIAL NOTE: Due to the pandemic, this year we will be offering limited places to attend at Virupa Retreat Centre, as well as an online attendance option. If you wish to attend at Virupa please email or call us on (02) 6238 2088 and book over the phone to secure your place.

Our annual Hevajra Retreat is held every year to help initiates of Lamdre to renew their connection and deepen their knowledge of the Sadhana and its deep and profound teachings. All Lamdre recipients are encouraged to attend as such retreats are very rare to be conducted anywhere in the world, let alone in Australia.

*Note: This retreat is strictly for those who are initiates of both the Hevajra Cause and Path empowerments and Lamdre recipients.*

The annual Hevajra Retreat gives on opportunity for all Lamdre recipients to receive further teachings on the Hevajra Sadhana. For dedicated practitioners it is crucial to know the deeper meanings of the profound practice from reliable sources.

This year Rinpoche will teach on the basis of DROPS OF NECTAR, a profound commentary by Dezhung Ajam (1855-1952), which has been translated by Lochung Jamyang-la with Rinpoche's assistance. A copy of this will be offered to all participants.

Since His Holiness Sakya Trizin gave Lamdre in Vajradhara Gompa in 1997, our centre has hosted annual Hevajra retreats in Canberra.

Over the years, Lama Choedak Rinpoche has led all the retreats giving extensive teachings on the long and middle length Sadhana like no other.

Rinpoche’s vast knowledge and experience places him as one of the few Sakya Lamas who is qualified to do so.

Rinpoche completed his three-year retreat during which Hevajra was the main practice. He is the only ‘Lamdre Drub-la’ in Australia who has completed the Lamdre retreat under the guidance of Kyabje Chogye Trichen Rinpoche.

All attendees are requested to stay for the full duration of the retreat.
