Memorial Stupa

Memorial Stupa for
His Eminence Chogye Trichen RinpocheBoudhanath Stupa

Now that all the necessary rituals have been completed after the Parinirvana of His Eminence Chogye Trichen Rinpoche, I have decided to construct a Memorial Stupa, most probably a Mahabodhi Stupa here in Australia. Some relics from His Eminence's cremation will be brought to Australia in July 2007. A site for the stupa and the height and design of the stupa will be chosen under the guidance from His Holiness the Sakya Trizin. It is intended that the height of the statue will be measured in 37's - in order to match the 37 factors of enlightenment as well as 37 heaps of Mandala. The stupa is of course subject to the approval by the ACT government.

STOP PRESS: our application to the Canberra government for suitable land at a reduced price has been finalised and submitted; and we have received our first letter of support from an MP.

All are requested to make a generous donation toward this wonderful project. Your donation is tax deductible.

Cheques or money orders can be made payable to SLCD School Building Fund. Please send a note to indicate that it is for the Memorial Stupa Project.

Payments by EFT or EFTPOS are also welcome: please contact the office mail@sakya.com.au or 02 6238 2088 to arrange. As well, special saving-tins are available to take home from SLCD or your centre. This is a good way to make your coins multiply.

Quote of the Day

“Where would I possibly find enough leather with which to cover the surface of the earth? But (just) leather on the soles of my shoes is equivalent to covering the earth with it. Likewise it is not possible for me to restrain the external course of things but should I restrain this mind of mine what would be the need to restrain all else?”
