Pilgrimage to India
15 December 2008 - 8 January 2009
Pilgrimage is the oldest form of tourism and going to some of the oldest historically significant places can invigorate one's knowledge and sense of belonging of one's spiritual or cultural identity. Before the Buddha passed away he asked his disciples to visit major places associated with his life and told that those who go on pilgrimage to those places will receive equal blessings as those who saw and heard him. Lama Choedak Rinpoche has been leading pilgrimage to India for many years. This pilgrimage has slightly different itinerary as it will include a visit to the famous Ajanta and Ellora Caves in addition to the usual Buddhist pilgrimage circuit of Buddhist Indi and Nepal.
List of places we will visit are: Mumbai, Ajanta, Ellora, Varanasi, Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, Nalanda, Vaishali, Kushinagar (India), Lumbini and Kathmandu (Nepal).
