About

Background

Lama Choedak Yuthok Rinpoche first came to Canberra in 1986. After conducting several well-attended retreats, he implanted the seeds for the establishment of a centre for the propagation, practice and teaching of the holy Dharma.

Spiritual Director

Lama Choedak Rinpoche is the founder and Spiritual Director of Sakya Losal Choe Dzong as well as many other centres throughout Australia And New Zealand. He's been teaching meditation in the West for more than years and has an excellent understanding of the western mind.s

Lineage

In Tibetan Buddhism, lineage preserves the integrity of Buddha's teachings from generation to generation. The relationship between Master and Disciple is sacred.

Committee

The Tibetan Buddhist Society of Canberra Inc is a non-profit organisation with a committee of seven members, headed by president Ani Kunsang.

Sangha

Rinpoche is teacher to 11 ordained nuns and monks at his centres throughout Australia and New Zealand, including four in Canberra.
